These competitions test the skills and training of the team from each Cadet Unit. Activities and skills that Navy Cadets learn throughout the year are put to the test at these competitions. They are also an exciting opportunity make new friendships from other Navy Cadets around Australia.
Competitions are held over the Easter Long Weekend to allow all Cadets and Instructors to attend.
Navy Cadets also have the opportunity to attend a week-long National Camp. This caters for Cadets from every Unit around Australia. Each day of the National Camp is jammed packed full of exciting and challenging activities, some of which you might not ever tried before.
The National Camp is held on a Defence Base, where Cadets will sleep and be fed. Some of the activities planned for a National Camp may include:
- Visit a Navy warship or submarine
- Fire-fighting and smoke walk
- Target shooting
- Survival at Sea
- Leadership & teamwork challenges
- Rock wall climbing
- Navy helicopter flights
- Drone flying
- Power boating
- Sail training
- Defence careers presentation
The national competitions and the National Camp are fully funded by Defence who arrange the activities, land and air travel, accommodation and all the food you can eat for the whole week!
