Being on a boat is what it is all about! Here you will learn the basic skills to skipper a small powerboat under the supervision of an Australian Sailing qualified powerboat instructor who will facilitate your learning journey. This elective will introduce you to trip planning, boat maintenance, safety equipment, and dealing with emergencies, and you will get lots of hands-on practical powerboat driving skills and activities.

The material in this elective aligns with the Australian Sailing Discover Sailing Start Powerboat Program Syllabus and ANC gratefully acknowledges the permission to use all Australian Sailing learning resources and material. Therefore, you will receive the ‘best practice’ in Australia regarding the content and activities. It sets you up for what you need to know to get a Powerboat Licence in your State or Territory if you want to become licenced later.
